Survivor Episode 10: Just two Kuchas left
by Barbara Fletcher

With Jerri gone, the former Ogakor tribe members have resumed their quest to vote off every member of the former Kucha tribe.

And with Nick being the latest victim, there are just two gaunt and weary Kuchas left.

We heard a few excuses about Nick being lazy, and not really pulling his weight -- but who really is pulling their weight these days? Who really has any weight left?

It's getting a little hard to watch all those bones poking out of all that sagging skin. It made us feel too tired to get up off the couch for a snack during commercials.

Speaking of food, we were all a little relieved to see Jeff Probst shuffle up to the group mid-show with a can that obviously contained some much-needed rice.

But when he piously plunked himself down on the rice can and berated the tribe for not rationing their supplies properly (and then had the nerve to ask for their camp in return for food) we hoped that they could muster enough strength to snatch the rice and chase Probst's well-fed butt into the Outback sunset.

But, the Survivors made the trade, licking their chops and hoping to summon enough energy to build another camp -- away from the rising river.

Pop and Chip Party
And what was with that lame reward challenge? Although CBS wants to ensure that nobody starves on the show, the all-too-obvious product placement was pathetic.

Burnett and the gang were was obviously trying to boost the tribe's pathetically low morale, but a pop and chip party supplied by companies (that shall remain unnamed) just didn't cut it.

Maybe something with a little protein that could be taken back to camp and cooked (some dry beans, for example) would have made better sense? How plausible is a cheeseburger in the middle of the Outback, anyway? How cruel is it to give starving people snacks devoid of nutritional value that serve only to fuel enough energy for unpleasant trips to latrine afterward?

And would somebody please feed Elisabeth? If she doesn't get voted off in the next episode, she'll be dust in the wind within a week.
