Survivors to Compete on The Weakest Link
by Barbara Fletcher
It doesn't get any better than this, kids: during the May sweeps Survivors from the first season are
going to compete on the snarkiest game show in town -- NBC's The Weakest Link.
CTV will air the special Survivor show-down
on Thursday, May 10 at 8:30 -- a week after the final Survivor episode.
According to Access Hollywood, the contestants will include Richard Hatch,
Susan Hawk, Sean Kenniff, Ramona Gray, Gretchen Cordy, and Joel Klug -- but this hasn't been
confirmed by NBC.
It's a good thing that the contestants will be from the first show; Ice Queen host Anne Robinson
might be hard pressed to find any flesh left on the Outback Survivors for tearing strips off.
Imagine the casualties.
But how will our beloved Survivors from the South China Sea take the tongue-lashing when the they fail to
live up to Robinson's expectations of intellect?
Facing Robinson may be more challenging than sharing a sleeping bag with rats or watching Rich wander
around nude.
"Susan, is there any beginning to your knowledge?"
"Sean, you need to be dispatched without delay."
"Rudy, you have outstayed your welcome."
It's going to be fun.
Also on May 10, Survivor fans can sink their teeth into a one-hour CBS special Survivor: Back
from the Outback. Cue: The Homecoming. The show follows the 16 contestants around with
cameras and interviewers as they return home to a less-than-normal life of Survivor fame.
So, the fun doesn't end with the 2-hour Survivor finale and 1-hour reunion show on May 3. There's
the Weakest Link and the homecoming show, plus the inevitable guest appearances on sit-coms and dramas.
The show may be drawing to a close, but Survivor fever lives on.
