About me
First and foremost: I am a writer (evidence here and here). Sometimes I pretend to be something else -- but writing always finds me and gives me away.
I used to write every day. I can't bring myself to delete the old blog despite the busted backend and the words petrified into pixels. The new blog isn't ready for the world, yet.
I am easily wooed by words. I can be seduced by a beautifully crafted paragraph, or hell, even a tasty phrase.
The web has inspired me since I beheld its magnificence in 1995. It changed my life. It became my career. It turned me into a geek (and I'm fine with that). I like playing with code and widgets and style sheets. So nah.
For over 10 years, I've maintained a writers' resource website: [places for writers]. If you're a writer you should visit.
I am sensitive and self-conscious, passionate and capricious, easily annoyed but easily pleased.
I create stories about people I've met. And I write parts of people into poems. There is probably something about you here somewhere.
After a few glasses of wine, I talk way too much.
My favourite colour is the inky blue of twilight just before the sky sinks into black.
I think animals and humans were created to share the earth. Animals serve to teach us, not feed us. I like to read but I don't do it often enough. I like loud washy guitars and dance re-mixes. I love spinning, hiking, and walking for hours. Public transit makes me anxious. So do uneven sidewalk surfaces.
Other things that bring me joy: Sarah, beers with friends, cooking, photography, British reality TV/dramas, red wine, music, and living in the city. Oh, and that great guy from high school that married me.
